Keychain je pouze jednostranna zalezitost pro weby. 1Password je v tomto smeru ponekud logicky obsahlejsi a srovnavat ho s keychain, mi prijde ponekud zcestne.

Keychain je na OSX odjakživa, teď přidává jen synchronizaci přes iCloud. Keychain neuchovává jen webová hesla, ale komplet všechna data kolem identifikace - tedy přístupy na lokální i vzdálené servery, k poštovním účtům, pro aplikace typu Adium, Cyberduck, Colloquy a další, certifikáty k digitálním podpisům, a toto všechno se mi teď bude synchronizovat napříč všemi zařízeními - tři Macy, iPhone, iPad, s přímou integrací do iOS, což 1Password kvůli omezením iOS nikdy neměl a mít nebude.

A stejně - kolik lidí používá 1password jen na webová hesla a na platební karty? Já třeba jo, na nic dalšího to nepoužívám. Občas na vygenerování složitého hesla, a to OSX Mavericks bude umět taky. Takže zbývají jen tajné poznámky, a kvůli tomu si aplikaci za $50 na OSX a za dalších $20 na iOS asi moc lidí nekoupí...

Samozřejmě že pokud by chtěli, mohli by asi vydat aktualizaci, která bude uložená hesla někde shromažďovat a někam třeba odesílat. Ale vzhledem k tomu, že aplikace prochází schvalovacím procesem Applu, tak bych se něčeho takového nebál. Sám používám 1Password mnoho let, na iPhonu i na Macu.

Jde jen o to vymyslet, jak predat key aniz to nekdo dokaze, vsimne atp... Nejak zahashovat do crashreports apod?

Ja nerikam, ze to hrozi, ale je treba pocitat se vsim, napr. nekdo da autorovi pistoli k palici a donuti ho k tomu. Je treba s tim pocitat. Muze to byt klidne policie. Pouze se zajimam o to, jak je technicky osetreno... Vychazi mi, ze na dulezita data to asi moc nebude jedine cisty open source. Nebo jak to osefovat?

OpenSource, ale který si zkompiluješ sám. Protože binární balíček může obsahovat ledacos. A kompilovat nejlépe kompilátorem, který jsi si sám napsal, protože i v binárním balíčku s gcc může být backdoor.

2: jde nekde zakazat, aby aplikace odesilala jakakoliv diag. data? Tj. Aby mela pristup POUZE na ten dropbox a pouze s mymi credentilas?

1/ Ne, pro komunikaci se používá API Dropboxu, viz https://www.dropbox.com/developers.
2/ Takový přepínač můžeš někde v nastavení té aplikace mít, ale ten může, ale také nemusí fungovat. To by něco takového musel umět řídit systém, což iOS asi (?) neumí.

V tom případě aplikaci nekupuj, měj všechna hesla v hlavě a budeš maximálně zabezpečen. Jinak tady co by kdyby nemá smysl rozebírat. Buď věříš a aplikaci koupíš, nebo nevěříš a všechna hesla si pamatuj. Tečka.

Sranda je právě v tom, že to nezjistíš, jestli bude tvá hesla zneužívat nebo ne, jestli bude zneužívat přístup na dropbox nebo ne. Je to jasné. Buď dané aplikaci věříš na tolik, že ji svěříš svá hesla a přístup na dropbox anebo prostě nevěříš. Hotovo. Ty se tady neptáš na to, jak to funguje, ty tady prostě spekuluješ nad něčím, co se zjistit přesně nedá a je to jen o důvěře v danou app nebo ne.

Ovsem me otazky mohou vyvolat otazky dalsich uzivatelu a objem otazek muze eskalovat do vytvoreni podrobnejsiho logu dropboxu a podrobnejsiho cleneni prav na adresar apod. Api dropboxu jsem zatim neprostudoval, ale obavam se, ze ty aplikace si berou prava NA CELY DROPBOX, aniz o potrebuji a stacilo by pravo na konkretni adresar.

Je to jen na nas uziatelich, co si nechame libit, to plati obecne.

Nová verze 4 pro iOS by se údajně stále měla umět synchronizovat se starší verzi 3 na Macu (přes dropbox), viz jejich KB:

Chtěl bych se na pár věcí k této aplikaci zeptat.

1) Je to opravdu bezpečné? Já mám za to, že jak jednou někde řeknu, nebo napíšu na papírek heslo, tak už to heslo není k ničemu, je to nebezpečné.

2) Ten generátor hesel tam slouží k čemu? To mi jako nabídne změnu hesla pro danou stránku?

3) Abych dostal ty hesla pod Windows do Firefoxu, tak musím koupit i verzi na Win, nebo jak se zde píše, že editovat budu moct jen z iPhonu, ale ve Win se mi to bude automaticky doplňovat?

4) Na screenshotu je i ikona Gmailu, tzn že obsahuje i mailovou schránku, kterou umí šifrovat?

1/ Ano, je to bezpečné. Používám to na Macu už skoro 10 let.
2/ Ano, nabídne ti vhodné a dostatečně bezpečné heslo.
3/ Ano, musíš koupit verzi jak pro iOS tak pro počítač (Mac, PC).
4/ Ne, pouze uchovává přihlašovací informace, maily jako takové to nijak nechrání.

V popisu aplikace v AppStore už naskočilo "Offers In-App Purchases", což tam podle mě dřív nebylo, nebo si neuvědomuju, co by bylo nabízeno jako in-app purchase. V popisu aplikace na AppStore zatím chybí obvyklý seznam funkcí, které jsou nabízeny k dokoupení. Možná tedy opravdu přecházejí na freemium model...

No na Andoridu to In-App ma a povoluje to editaci polozek na mobilnim zarizeni. Tj. pokud ma nekdo Mac/PC verzi, kde si ty polozky vytvori a v iPhonu je jen cte/nechava doplnovat tak by mu to stacilo.
Ale to je jen odhad z toho co maji na Androidu, uvidime jak to bude tady.
Navic vsechny clanky, ktere mluvili o 1Password free, byly stazeny (idownloadblog, macrummors). Narazil jsem na to jen ze mi to zustalo viset v RSSce.
