Briefcase není jen další z mnoha prohlížečů souborů. Jedná se o aplikaci pro kompletní správu souborů. Dokáže procházet počítače (Macy) v lokální síti (placená verze i vzdálené počítače přes internet), vybraný soubor si stáhnout, otevřít nebo přehrát. Již uložené soubory pak umí naopak nahrát do zvolené složky na vzdáleném počítači (Macu). Placená verze umí pracovat s celými složkami najednou, lze si také posílat soubory mezi dvěma iPhony. Na počítač(e) není třeba instalovat žádný software, pro komunikaci se používá bezpečný protokol SSH, na počítači, ke kterému se chcete připojovat, stačí SSH server (Remote Login na Macu).

Jediný požadavek je běžící SSH server. Na PC to tedy není problém pod Linuxem, pod Windows nevím, ale na stránách autora se píše toto (zkráceně - nainstalovat ssh server MobaSSH a povolit přichozí požadavky na portu 22 ve firewallu):

I want to use Briefcase with Windows. What do I need to do?
While Briefcase was designed to work optimally with Macs, Windows users (with a solid amount of technical knowledge) can use Briefcase as well. Windows does not support any open standards for remote login out of the box, including SSH which Briefcase uses. This means that one must install and set up an SSH server under Windows before Briefcase can connect. Another issue is that Windows does not support Bonjour. This means that Briefcase Lite will not work with Windows because you will need the ability to create a remote bookmark for your Windows computer.

Currently the easiest solution for SSH on Windows for use with Briefcase is MobaSSH. It will work with Vista or XP.

After installing an SSH server on Windows, it is important to make sure that the Windows Firewall is configured to allow access to TCP port 22.

The most recent version of Briefcase uses a new SSH component that can be very slow when communicating with Windows computers. We are in contact with the authors of the component and they are working on improving the performance. We will update to a faster version of the SSH component in the next release.

Je to fakt dokonaly. S placenou verzi si muzu sahnout na iMaca v praci, stahnout si z nej nejake dokumenty, ty poslat na iPhone kolegovi (musi mit nainstalovany Briefcase - staci lite verze) nebo poslat emailem komukoliv

Zajímavá aplikace, díky za tip. Pro mé občasné využití si vystačím i s lite verzí.

neviem ako zistim Server Address. je to moja IP adresa?

Server address je adresa pocitace, ke kteremu se chces pripojit.
