Namco hinting that fighting Tekken and Soul Calibur are coming to iPhone

With over 13,000 games available for the iPhone developers are rushing to have their franchises on the device. According to Namco, Tekken and Soul Calibur could follow suit. Namco?s so keen to benefit from the gaming gold mine that is the iPhone and iPod Touch that the company earlier revealed its Apple gaming division titled Apple Games. The division will be headed up by Jonathan Kromey, a specialist iPod and iPhone game producer whose in charge of making the best games for the devices.
Speaking to Kotaku he admitted that ?There is a gold rush to do Apps for the App store,? he said. ?And Namco is at the forefront of that movement.?
As part of that Namco strategy he hinted that fighting titles Tekken and Soul Calibur could soon be appearing on the App Store, despite the complexities posed with using a touchscreen to control a complicated fighter.
Asked about putting such games onto a device with no controllers Kromey said ?I would love that, I think twitch games would be great, it?s just the controls that are a challenge. We are thinking about that.?
